Balcony Table Means Apartment Dwellers Can Dine Outdoors too

folding-hanging-balcony-table.jpgOne of the realities of having an apartment or a condo in the city is that your (often tiny) balcony probably is it for outdoor living space. It can be challenging to find a table and chair set that is compact enough to allow you to eat or work outside or even just enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning.

If you're tight on space, a balcony table that hangs from the railing could help. There's no need for cumbersome table legs, and this one folds down so it isn't taking up room when it's not in use.

The balcony table doesn't require any tools for installation. Just hook it onto the railing (up to 7" wide) and tighten down the bolts. It looks like a pretty easy way to get some practical eat/work space in a small outdoor living area.

African Zebra Hide Dining Room Table

african-zebra-hide-dining-table.jpgNow, I'm an animal lover, so you wouldn't catch me with furniture made from zebra hides (or any other types of hides), but if you want something exotic from a distant land (and don't mind the animal issue), then here's a unique dining room table.

The Matetsi Table with Zebra Skin inlay is made from reclaimed railroad ties. Perfect for that safari-themed dining room you never knew you always wanted!

No price listed on the website right now, but you can get more information from African Savanna Furniture.

Lava Flower Side Table, Yup It's Made from Lava

lava-rock-side-table.jpgVolcanic lava just doesn't get incorporated into the home and garden scene often enough, does it?

No, I'm not talking about the searing, molten, red flowing stuff, but rather the stuff that seared and flowed long ago and has since turned into rock. Believe it or not, you can make furniture from lava rock, as this "Lava Flower" side table attests.

This exotic piece is made from solid Icelandic lava and "captures in a unique way Icelandic fairytales." Ok, at first glance I took it for a fancy cinder block, but upon closer inspection I can see the fairy tale element.

It might be a challenge, however, to find a nice lava couch to go with the table.

Spinning Coffee Table with Storage

spinning-coffee-table-with-storage.jpgIf you're looking for a versatile coffee table that provides storage and can easily be moved out of the way when company is over (hey, you never know when you're going to need a dance floor in the middle of the living room), then take a peek at Tim Wigmore's Spin Coffee Table.

As the name implies, the round table can be spun around (to hide or reveal the storage areas) or moved across the room on its castors. As a bonus for your green living types, the coffee table is made from sustainably grown hoop pine and finished in an eco-friendly oil.

Cadillac Sofa, Furniture for Vintage Car Lovers

cadillac-sofa.jpgI've been looking for a new couch for my living room for quite some time, and my web surfing has taken me to many interesting furniture destinations. I recently stumbled upon my first car sofa though. It's not really my style, but if you need a gift (a rather large gift) for someone who loves vintage cars, this could be fun.

The Cadillac Sofa: "Comfy vinyl seats with a Cadillac’s side wings, complete with grille and illuminating orange and transparent lights. The wacky resin creations are molded from a real classic 1959 Coupe de Ville Cadillac, truly as much an icon of its age as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe."

Available colors are pink, black, and red, and there's also a unique Salvadore Dali inspired design.

The only question is what kind of coffee table do you get to go with a couch like this?
