"Splat Stan" a Rubber Coaster with a Sense of Humor

splat-stan-rubber-coaster.jpgI suppose the grammar majors will let me know that a coaster can't actually have a sense of humor, but if you display Splat Stan on your coffee table, guests will know you've got a few quirks at least. According to the product description, the poor guy got splatted protecting your tabletop from tea and coffee stains.

This silicone rubber coaster just comes in a set of 1 (yeah, yeah, I know one can't be a set), so if you want a lot of little splatted men adorning your living room, you'll have to buy several. £7.50 gets you one.

Portable Outdoor Projection Screen for Movies in the Backyard

outdoor-projection-screen.jpgThere may still be snow on the ground in lots of parts of the country, but I for one am ready to think summer thoughts. If you're dreaming of the warm days ahead and wondering how to create a truly impressive outdoor entertaining space, you may dig this giant indoor/outdoor projection screen.

The "Backyard Drive-in" can be used for watching movies, playing video games, or viewing sports events. With a 13'6" W x 9' H viewing area, just about everything that shows up on that screen will be life-sized--or bigger.

The projection screen is portable, so you can move it from spot to spot in the yard or even take it on the road. Setup and assembly is only supposed to take a few minutes.

Golf Course for the Backyard

backyard-golf-course.jpgIf you're a golf nut, you've probably fantasized about being able to step outside your house and play a few rounds. Unless you live on a golf course, this probably isn't going to happen, but perhaps you could satisfy the urge by putting a few just off the back deck.

Green Links, Inc. specializes in synthetic golf putting greens and lawn turf. They have a gallery of pictures on their site, showing residential installations they've done. The nice thing about the synthetic stuff is it always looks good and you don't have to mow anything. Of course, if you're determined to have a lawn to take care of, you can always leave the front yard unscathed...

Motorized Bumper Bloats Blow Other Pool Toys Away

motorized-bumper-boats.jpgIf you've got a backyard swimming pool, and you're looking for a way to entertain the kids this summer, these motorized bumper boats are sure to be a hit.

A little more exciting than the balls and floaties I played with as a kid, these boats can be used in any calm water. They can chug along at 3 mph and turn in any direction using tugboat propeller technology. The inflatable boats (air pump included) come with an azimuth thruster to provide power and steering (requires 6 x D batteries). The seats are big enough for adults, so you can hop in and play bumper boats with the kids.

$100 each from Hammacher Schlemmer:

Mount Your Flat Panel Television to Your Bed

bed-mounted-flat-panel-tv.jpgLots of people like to watch TV in bed, and if you've got a flat panel LCD or plasma television, here's a new place to put it: right at the end of the bed.

This Under-bed Lift Television Stand lets you hide a 50" TV under a king-sized bed, and when you're ready to watch your favorite shows (or late night infomercials promising to make you rich in real estate), it deploys in 35 seconds. The device only requires 8" of clearance under the bed for installation. Just in case you like watching TV from other parts of your bedroom, the stand rotates so you can see the screen from different angles.
