I remember going to the Oregon Coast and hunting agates on Agate Beach as a kid. I didn't find any big enough to be made into cheese plates (man, do I feel ripped off), just keychains.
Anyway, if you dig the exotic look of agates and have always wanted dedicated cheese plates, then here is an option for you:
Each cut gemstone disc has a unique pattern, and sizes range from 6 inches (small) to 8 inches (large) with the plates standing 1 inch tall. Each one has a polished top and should be hand washed.

Want some special fireplace doors to dress up the focal point of your great room? If you like the idea of glass accented by steel, then the custom doors from Consignment Metal may be something to check out.
Among their more popular sets are these fighting elk fireplace doors.
The frames are made from 1/4 inch steel, which is polished, and then heated to color. The elk and trees consist of 1/8 inch hammered steel that has been wire brushed. A clear powder coat finish is applied to the door assembly, which can protect the set for many years (and many fires) to come.
If fighting elk aren't your style, the company has crafted fireplace doors that feature other nature-inspired scenes such as aspen branches, and there's even one of a fly fisherman casting his line into a stream. If you have something else in mind, they'll work with you to create something custom as well.

A nice big wood cutting board is a must for any kitchen, and we've looked at some gadgety ones before (as gadgety as a slab of wood can get anyway):
--a corner cutting board that lets you use awkward countertop corners
--a cutting board that hooks to the edge of the countertop
--a cutting board with a built-in colander
This end grain wood cutting board from the Wooden Kitchen Shop on Etsy doesn't have any gadget elements, but it manages to be cool all on its own. Weighing in at over 6 pounds, it's sure to be sturdy and lasting too.
The one-man operation creates each board to be one-of-a-kind, so you can brag to your friends that your cutting board is as much art as functional kitchen piece.

There are all sorts of fun accessories you can get for your home that stand out from the ordinary. While any bottle opener will do to pop your cap, you can invest a few extra dollars for something handcrafted that will last for years and years to come.
This handsome oak leaf bottle opener is the work of Etsy seller IronOakForge. It's "hand-forged, the old fashioned way. Heated in a coal forge, and hand hammered on a 130 year old anvil. Rustic and sturdy."
Over time, with frequent handling, the bottle opener develops a dark and light contrast that gives it much more character than something you pick up at Walmart.

A coat rack is a pretty handy storage tool that allows you to keep frequently used garments close at hand. You can get standing racks and wall-mounted racks, but if you prefer to keep your coats out of sight, then behind the door can be a practical spot.
This cute little "pine cone" over door coat rack is more decorative than most and is one of several wrought iron, rustic-themed racks available from Our Knick Knacks.
It hangs flat and can also be used in the bathroom to hold robes or towels.
$35.95.
