Steel Roofs That Look Like Clay Roman Tiles (and stand up to storms)
Metal or steel roofs are known for their extreme durability and 50 (or more) year warrantees. And, as we've discovered in other posts, metal roofs don't need to look ugly. While earlier models were distinctively metal, today you can get styles that will fool passersby. Examples include metal roofs with diamond-shaped patterns, colorful metal roofs, and today we're checking out steel covered with stone to precisely mimic clay tiles:
A company called Metro Roof Products has a new roof style they call Metro Tile Roman.
Their stone-coated steel roof panels give you the Mediterranean tile look without the often excessive weight of clay or concrete. According to the company, their metal/stone tiles are lightweight, walkable, and virtually unbreakable. That durability should be especially appealing for homeowners in hurricane and tornado prone climates.
This may be a case where the look-alike is actually better than the original.
