Eco-friendly Peach Pit Floors
If you get excited about housing materials made from renewable sources, then you'll probably get a kick out of these peach pit floors. What could be more "renewable" than floors made from a fruit that can be harvested anew every year? And these floors are certainly unique looking too. When people come over to your house for the first time, you can play the fun new dinner game of, "So, what do you think my floors are made from?"
As for the logistics, this unique flooring is made from peach pits that are hand-packed onto a glued surface, and then filled with a salica sand/resin mix. They're then sealed so they'll last.
If you're thinking peach pit floors might have a bit too much texture for your tastes (one does wonder what it's like walking on them), know that the sharp edges of the pits are sanded off, which should make them comfortable to walk on, and the process also exposes the red hue of the pits, which gives you a look reminiscent of natural wood.
Just don't be surprised if you walk into your house one day to find the dog licking the floors... mmm, peaches!
