Build Your Own Squirrel Feeder
Some people aren't crazy about backyard intruders and will look for any way to get rid of squirrels, but then there are people like my parents who will feed every critter, winged or footed, that travels through the yard. They'd be good prospects for a squirrel feeder.
Though they're not as popular as bird feeders, squirrel feeders can be purchased at quite a few stores. If you're hankering for a weekend project, though, you can make one of your own.
RunnerDuck Resources lists needed materials and step-by-step instructions on how to build a squirrel feeder that looks like the one pictured here. It's a hanging table and chair set up, where you stick an ear of corn on top of the "table." I imagine the corn is healthier (or at least less fattening) than those peanuts my parents are always throwing out for the wildlife.
