Recycled Rubber Floor Tiles Perk up Rooftop Deck

rooftop-deck-with-recycled-rubber-floor-tiles.jpgA rooftop deck can be a haven if you have a condo in the city, but what to do with those unflattering concrete floors? You can try deck tiles, but maybe you want something a little more vibrant and colorful than wood. Maybe you want something that's eco-friendly because it's made out of recycled materials. Maybe you just want me to stop saying maybe and get to the point.

The rooftop deck shown here is covered with recycled rubber floor tiles from EcoSurfaces. They specialize in commercial flooring, but there's no reason you couldn't do something like this for your home. You can choose from a wide variety of colors and mix and match to create patterns.

The company starts with 100% post-consumer material rescued from America's landfills, and then they mix in colorful, UV-resistant EPDM flecks. The materials are then "bound with a water-based polymer to create rubber flooring in an extensive array of 54 standard color combinations for any environment."
