Mildew & Mold Reistant Shower Curtain

mildew-and-mold-resistant-shower-curtain.jpgIf you're looking for a stylish and glamorous shower curtain for your bathroom, this probably isn't it. However, if you're just sick and tired of throwing out shower curtains because they're slimed with mold and mildew (or maybe you try spraying that mildew-away stuff on, but it never seems to work), then this may be a winner for your house.

The frosted plastic vinyl shower curtain has been treated to resist mildew and bacteria. It's supposed to be heavy (hotel-weight), so it can be used as a liner or a stand alone. You can machine wash it or wipe it clean (I guess it doesn't resist dirt).

I find that no matter how well you care for your shower curtain, it will develop mildew at some point. When this happens, you can machine wash it. Simply use ordinary detergent and warm water. Washing a couple of bath towels at the same time cleans the curtain even better. As the wash agitates, the towels rub the curtain and help remove the stains. When the wash cycle finishes, remove the shower curtain immediately. Do not let it go through the spin cycle. This can cause the curtain to become twisted, possibly stretching or tearing it. Simply hang it up in the shower and wipe it down with a sponge or dry towel. It will work perfectly.

I love changing the look of the house, and find a good shower curtain collection at http://www.justhomedecor.com/estoreusa/home.php?cat=653
