Outdoor Rugs Made Easy with Carpet Tiles
An outdoor rug can add cozy warmth to the otherwise cool wood of a deck or cement patio. Granted you have to get a material that will stand up well to wind and rain, but more and more manufacturers are issuing rugs designed to do just that.
Flor, the company that previously brought us carpet tiles for indoor use, has come out with a line of interlocking carpet tiles for your deck or patio. Little cut outs built into the design (diamonds in the design pictured here) allow water to drain off the tile and prevent moisture from being trapped under the carpet. This keeps it from getting soggy and mildew-laden in damp climates.
This "Cut It Out" design is available in three colors: hummingbird, toucan, and tabby cat (I'd translate that to purple, aquamarine, and beige). The carpet is "fuzzy smooth" to the touch, so it should be pleasant to bare feet as well as shoes. The price is $12 per tile or about $4.50 per square foot.
