Inflatable Snake for Pest Control?
The folks over at the Gardners' Supply Store say this inflatable snake will scare away pest birds and rats (maybe pest humans too...), thus providing a natural (well non-chemical) form of pest control for your garden.
"Place this 6’ inflatable rattler near berry bushes, fruit trees and vegetable beds to frighten birds and other garden marauders."
You're supposed to move it every day to keep birds guessing. I suppose it's better than chemical pest control alternatives, but a 6-foot rattle snake lurking amongst my plants would be as likely to scare the heck out of me every time I saw it as to drive fear into birds trying to molest my tomatoes.
