Low Flow Shower Heads
One way to save water (and thus money on your water bill) is to install low flow showerheads in your bathrooms. Of course, no one wants to take a shower with wimpy water pressure, which used to be what you got when you installed low-flow faucets or showerheads. Today, however, you can get systems where water is mixed with air in "self-pressurizing" showerheads. This gives you the same 80 pounds of water pressure per square inch that standard models offer. Yet these newer models only use 1.6 gallons of water a minute, as opposed to the 5 gallons that regular showers waste. So, the bottom line is you get the same intensity of spray beating onto your shoulders with 70% less water wasted.
