Faber Matrix Range Hood
Back in ye olden days, range hoods actually had to look like... hoods. No longer. Faber's Matrix is one example of modern design and technology applied to this kitchen necessity. The stainless steel ventilation system, which includes gallery-style lighting to illuminate your work area, hangs at an angle behind the cooktop. Not only does it capture smoke and grease, but it can act as an air purifier 24 hours a day (and apparently its fan is quiet enough that you won't notice the noise). An inconspicuous indicator lets you know when it's time to change the filter. To top things off, the Matrix range hood comes with a remote control, so you don't have to stick your arm over a hot frying pan in order to change the fan speed or adjust the lighting.
