The season of fireplaces is upon us. With the rising prices of heat, a lot of folks are looking toward fireplaces as energy alternatives this year. Your traditional wood-burning fireplace is a waste of money, though. A wood stove insert is a better bet, but if you're looking for something that heats and looks snazzy too, Heatilator offers a number of "luxury gas fireplaces." Featured here is their contemporary style GDCL (no bonus points for cool names) gas fireplace which is meant to sit in a protruding corner wall with the flames visible from both sides of the wall. The price is $2528.
