Custom BBQ Pits/Grills/Smokers
For some BBQ enthusaists, a classy stainless steel grill from the likes of Viking is all they'll ever need, but if you want something with a little more, er, character, you might need a custom BBQ from David Klose down in (where else?) Texas. One example is the "Beer Bottle Smoker" shown below. The company, BBQ Pits by Klose, has been in business since 1986 and makes grills, pits, smokers, and mobile cookers to your specifications. And they do it without fancy machinery or assembly lines: "All BBQ Pits are made by hand, with no machinery involved in the manufacturing process except a welding machine, in the spirit of the old style iron foundries. One welder to one pit from the beginning to the finished product. Handmade all the way." Prices range from $300 to $50,000.
