Ceramic + Glass Tiles
I caught these combination ceramic and glass tiles the other night on HGTV. Trikeenan Tileworks uses a cracked glass front with a fired ceramic back to create tiles with unique designs. There is a perk for homeowners looking to save money: glass tiles usually require professional installation, but because these have ceramic backings, a skilled do-it-yourselfer can install them. The tiles are sturdy and can stand up to outdoor as well as indoor applications. Examples of places to install them are: kitchen backsplashes, showers, floors, accent walls, swimming pools, and fireplace surrounds.
