Sizing Tables for the Home
Figuring out the size of table you’re going to need for your dining room, kitchen or outdoor patio is subject to ponder. Of course, you need room for your immediate family or friends living with you, but you’re also going to need extra space for when guests come over.
When browsing table options, keep in mind the common seating capacities per table. For round tables, 35” seat 4 people; 42” and 48” seat 5 people; 54” seats 6 people; 60” seats 8 people; and 72” seats 10 people. When it comes to rectangular tables, a 30” x 72” seats 6 people and a 30” x 96” seats 8 people.
By keeping these dimensions and table seating capacities in mind, you can decide which table is going to fit you, your family and friends the best. Although you can always return furniture, it’s more convenient to choose the right one on the first try, because shipping costs or driving back to the store is such a pain.
