Teak Mosaic Tiles Made from Decommissioned Boats
Buying reclaimed wood is a way to get “old growth” beauty without sacrificing living trees, and these teak mosaic tiles come from an interesting source.
The “Driftwood mosaics” are made from old-growth teak that is reclaimed from decommissioned boats in China that are more than 100 years old.
Teak is a beautiful hardwood found in Asian rainforests, and there are very few places where old-growth trees are logged these days; this is a way to get your hands on some, and it’ll have extra character since the wood sailed the seas for decades before coming to reside in a tile in your home.
The mosaic wood tiles can be used in numerous applications such as kitchen backsplashes, mirror and fireplace surrounds, and small floor spaces. They are available in a number of different finishes.
