Random Green Living Tips

  • Let your dishes air dry in the dishwasher instead of heat dry. This will conserve your energy and money.
  • Purchase wine that has been made in your area. If you’re not near wine country, at least buy wine made in America or Canada. Also, choose wine with real cork stoppers.
  • Crush your trash as much as possible so that it will take up less space in a landfill.
  • Wait to do laundry until you have a full load and wash them on a cold or warm cycle.
  • Recycle your children’s toys by boxing some up and bringing them out again after a few months. Your child will feel like they are new toys.
  • Choose digital versions of magazines and books. You can read these on your computer and you save on paper.
  • Try to work at home as much as you can. If you have a meeting across town, see if you can video conference it instead.
  • Create your own household cleaners with essential oils or natural ingredients, and try using microfiber cloths that can be reused.
  • Never go grocery shopping when you’re hungry. Always make a list and stick to it. This goes for clothing and accessory shopping too.
  • Buy concentrated versions of products such as laundry detergent and sweeteners (Stevia). These products last longer and are often packaged more efficiently.
