Scandinavians used to get rid of these critters by washing and drying the bedding and then hanging it outside to dry. Apparently the freezing night temperatures are supposed to kill the mites. If you don’t have a clothes line, you can also put your pillow and duvet covers in the freezer for 24 hours.
