Creative Tile Projects: Table and House Numbers
Tiles can rejuvenate a piece of furniture or even your home, because they provide some detail where it would otherwise be plain. Some inexpensive yet creative tiling projects include tiling a tabletop and applying ceramic tile house numbers to your home.
Tiling a wooden tabletop is a way to add pizzazz without too much effort. All you need is tile, snap layout lines and mortar. If you’re updating an old table that has warped, you will need a belt sander and a coarse sanding belt to make the top as flat as possible. Also, a thin layer of mortar is important if you know the table will get wet from drink glasses.
Decorative tile house numbers can make your address more visible from the street, and it’s another way to add color to the front of your home. You will need an organic mastic and adhesive tape to secure the tile to the house until the mastic dries.
