Luxury Mahogany Wood Bathtub

Lindsay ~ 20 April 2009

This mahogany wood bathtub doesn’t have jets or anything fancy or high tech as with many of the luxury tubs and showers we’ve looked at, but there’s something pure and luxurious about wood itself.

The bathtubs are made by Bath-in-Wood of Maine.

The wooden tubs are made from solid, 1-inch-thick mahogany planks that are “mated to the next with a tongue and groove joint” and “fastened by marine epoxy. Once cured, this joint is actually stronger than the wood itself.”

The tub won’t leak, mildew, or rot, thanks to five layers of varnish and three coats of marine matte. Heck, you could sail across the ocean in this bad boy. Or just put it in the corner of the bathroom and enjoy soaking in it.

Prices run $8,200 for a single tub and $9,600 for a double.
