Propane Lawn Mower Offers Cleaner Emissions
Lindsay ~ 5 February 2009
Did you know a conventional lawn mower pollutes as much as 40 automobiles? I didn’t either, but that’s what the folks at EnviroGard are saying. Their alternative? A propane-powered lawn mower.
Benefits of their “Low Polluting Lawn Mower” include:
- A 60% reduction in smog forming emissions and 80% reduction in toxic emissions (when compared to diesel and gasoline).
- A fuel that averages 30% less than gasoline or diesel.
- A fuel that can’t be easily spilled all over the garage floor.
- A fuel that is 8000% cleaner overall.
The Envirogard lawn mowers aren’t exactly cheap (the most basic model, a 13 hp Kawasaki EPA with 33 inch belt drive, starts at over $4,000), but the company also offers conversion kits that may work with your existing mower. The kits come with “picture by picture” installation instructions, and the conversion is supposed to be doable in 2-3 hours with simple tools.
