Increase Shoe Storage with Handy Hide-a-way Bench

Here’s a shoe storage device I could use: a Hideaway Shoe Storage Bench

Since I started mucking around in my soon-to-be garden, I’m always coming inside with muddy boots. To save the floors, I take them off and dump them by the door, but that shoe pile isn’t all that attractive. A hide-a-way bench just for shoe storage (and sitting on of course) would be handy.

The small piece of furniture could easily fit in most entryways, and it offers hidden space enough to tuck away up to six pairs of men’s or eight pairs of women’s shoes. And since it’s a bench, it offers you a place to sit while you remove them.

The drawer under the bench pivots open to reveal two shoe shelves. Also, the upper shelf serves as a footrest if you need it. The interior is lined with camphor wood, which is good for absorbing odors.

The shoe storage bench is made from a MDF frame that can support up to 300 pounds, and it’s covered with an oak veneer.

The bench is $150 at Hammacher Shchlemmer:
