Garage Door Insulation Saves You Money on Energy Bills

Insulating your home can save you money on energy bills by ensuring you lose less heat in the winter and less cool air in the summer (when you’re paying to run the air conditioning). Garage door insulation is something we often overlook, but it can make a lot of sense for attached garages.
Owens Corning (the Pink Panther folks) offers a garage door insulation kit that lists several positive features:
- 5 x improvement in thermal insulation
- Reflective surface brightens up interior garage space
- Up to 20% noise reduction (a nice perk if you live on a busy street)
- Easily cleanable vinyl surface
I found the kit listed on the Lowes site (just search for “garage door insulation”) for about $70 (price may vary by zip code).
