Small Bathroom Sink Makes Sense for Powder Rooms
It’s possible to install a powder room in a small space, such as under the stairs or in a converted closet, and this adds a convenient place for guests to go to the bathroom and wash their hands. The only fixtures you need for a powder room are a sink and a toilet, but since you’re often working with limited space, you may want to consider smaller pieces than you would install in a regular bathroom.
A small sink works just fine for hand washing, and you can even get corner-mounted versions that take up the smallest amount of space. A wall-mounted sink of any sort (with no cabinets beneath) helps make the room feel less cramped.
The Robert Wet Lavatory is an example of a small sink you could put in a powder room. Available in 16″ x 14″ or 24″ x 16″ versions, the frosted glass and stainless steel sink offers simple modern lines, which is great for creating an illusion of more space.
The up side of renovating such a tiny room is that you can often afford to install higher end pieces, since you don’t need to spend much on flooring, wall treatments, and the like.
The small version of the Robert Wet Lavatory will run you about $1000. Available from Absolute Home.
