Wireless Driveway Alert Alarm System
If you like the idea of knowing visitors are coming before they’re actually knocking on the door, then a driveway alert system can be a good choice. In addition, driveway alarms can be smart from home security standpoints. You’ll be alerted if anyone is on your premises during the day or at night, when they could be skulking around and entertaining unscrupulous notions.
Dakota’s wireless probe driveway alert kit is designed so a do-it-yourselfer could easily install the system.
Note: Even though it’s wireless there is some digging involved–the transmitter sends the signal into the house wirelessly, but the car-sensing probe itself (and attached cable) need to be buried. As a bonus for this work, the probe–because it’s underground–is undetectable by those driving up. You’ll be alerted in the house without anything obvious happening outside.
The probe is to be buried parallel to the driveway, and then the sensor will activate whenever a vehicle is within 10-12 feet. The receiver can be up to 3,000 feet away, so this system should work even on large lots.
