Hand-painted Rope Tree Swing for the Kids

12 August 2008

When I was a kid, one of the neighbors had a tire swing dangling from a tree in the front yard. This was the most ghetto swing you’ve ever seen (the tire had been salvaged from a junk yard and had been liberally chewed by a dog, and the moldy rope didn’t look much better), but we still had a blast playing on it.

If you think your kids would enjoy a rope tree swing, you needn’t resort to the junkyard to create one of your own. You can pick up a lovely handmade swing that you won’t be embarrassed to display in the front yard.

The fun baseball themed swing here is one of several hand-painted items available from Etsy seller “Bubee.” Under the paint is a pine seat that can support up to 250 pounds, so mom and dad can might be able to swing too (when the kids aren’t looking, of course!).
