Beyond Beaded Curtains — $4,000 “Happening” Curtains
The hippie days may be long past (for most of us), but that doesn’t mean beaded curtains are gone forever. These are a bit classier than the curtains you might have had leading to your parents’ basement back in the old days though.
Hand-crafted by J Schatz in New York, the Happening Curtains are made using seven stainless steel cables and 53 glossy ceramic earthenware shapes.
“Elegantly composed in a minimal stainless steel framework, the 53 beautifully finished glossy ceramic shapes of the Multicolor Happening Curtain are eye catching and bold. Designed to be fully customized, this curtain is suspended by 7 stainless steel cables that can be mounted to an angled or flat ceiling. The cables alternate between 6’ and 6’3” in length. Each of the 53 individual shapes are 5” tall x 5” wide.”
Weighing in at 35 pounds, the curtains might not be something you want to crash into a full speed. But if they appeal to your hippie senses (or just your love for hanging curtains), you can order them from Schatz’s website for $4,000.
