Not a Chair, Not a Hammack, a… “Hammaka”
For a while, I’ve been looking for a hammock that would be good for apartment and condo dwellers who may only have a small balcony for outdoor living space. Hey, just because you’re not in a house doesn’t mean you don’t like to sway in the breeze while you read a book and relax!
Last year, we peeped the X-chair, which runs about $120. That’s not bad, but I found another hammock/chair that’s a third of that price.
The Hammaka can hang from any single point (so no need to find two perfectly placed tree trunks to string that hammock to) and is made from “waterproofed & UV treated 600 x 600 denier polyester (the most durable and UV resistant material of its kind) with sturdy oak hardwood dowels and 2,000 lb. polyethylene cord.” Even better, the chair comes with a footrest.
Further, it’s supposed to be able to withstand any climate, so you don’t need to take it in at the end of the summer. Sit out and enjoy your hammock chair while the snow is falling if you wish (though perching a couple of patio heaters around you may be necessary for comfort).
