Ceramic “Fish Scale” Tiles Are Fun Flooring Option

6 July 2008

If you’re looking for fun flooring ideas for the bathroom, kitchen, or any place in the house where hard floors are desirable, ceramic offers a great deal of versatility.

While you may think of ceramic tiles as things that come in squares, there’s really no limit to size, shape, and color when it comes to this flooring option. Another perk to tile floors is, as with other hard surfaces, they are easy to clean and maintain, and they can also be desirable in households where people suffer from allergies (carpets are known for harboring dust mites, pet dander, mildew, etc. whereas these allergens have a harder time hiding on hard-surface floors).

These ceramic “fish scale” tiles may be something to add to the design ideas file. They’re the work of Ceramore Ceramic Tile Designers, a company that explores “ceramic moulding techniques in order to exploit the possibilities of interactions between shape and colour.”
