Brick and Wood Combined Makes Unique Flooring

19 July 2008

When you think of brick flooring, you might think of patios, driveways, or outdoor walkways, but bricks can be used indoors too.

Like other hard-surface flooring options, they are easy to keep clean and very friendly for allergy sufferers (unlike carpets, which are infamous for hiding dust, mildew and mold, pet dander, etc.).

If you don’t dig the idea of solid brick, you could do something like this floor, which employs pinwheel brick patterns inlaid with handsome hand-scraped cypress wood.

Portstone, the company that did this inlay pattern, has a number of gallery pictures of interior floors featuring bricks, so if you like the idea of a different kind of flooring material, you might want to browse their site for ideas.
