Modern, Wall-mounted Electric Fireplaces

24 June 2008

Electric fireplaces are handy in condos, apartments, and houses that didn’t come with a traditional hearth. They don’t have to be vented to the outdoors, and their cheery flames simulate a real fire.

You can get models that come with a surround and everything so all you have to do is plug them into the wall. But if you want something a little more integrated, you might consider a wall-mounted unit.

The Sonata, available through Artisan Midlands, has a unique look with its fire bowl design. It seems to be burning coal rather than logs, although we know that since it’s electric it’s of course burning neither. But if you prefer logs, those are an available option too.

The Sonata comes with a remote control (wouldn’t you like to be able to turn your fireplace on and off without getting off the couch?), child safety features, and hidden heating elements.
