Driftwood Furniture, the Ultimate in Reclaimed Eco-friendly Furnishings
Lindsay ~ 24 June 2008
The green movement is big in home and garden these days (and hopefully it will stay that way), and when it comes to furniture, it’s increasingly common to see pieces made from reclaimed wood. Well, it doesn’t get any more “reclaimed” than driftwood.
If you like the smooth, twisty nature of these logs pulled from the tides, then perhaps you might consider a table or a mirror or even a fireplace mantel made from the stuff.
The glass-topped table here was done by artist Carl Woodland (sounds like he lucked into an appropriate last name) of All Driftwood Furniture. His wood is gathered from the islands around Texas and California and crafted into sculptures, furniture, lamps, and other home accessories.
