Dishwashers Get off the Floor

7 June 2008

Most of the time, when you see dishwashers, they’re mounted under the counter next to the sink. This floor-level installation is normal, and most of us don’t think twice about it, but if you have back problems, bending to place dishes in and out of the washer can be painful, especially when you’re dealing with heavy pots.

A more ergonomic option is to raise the dishwasher off the floor. Just as you’ve probably seen ovens that are inserted between lower drawers and upper cabinets or drawers, you can also have dishwashers up higher now.

The LFA-65 IT X from Fagor America can come with a storage center, which is installed below, which makes raising the level of the dishwasher a simple matter. That means no more bending to load and unload the dishes, so this kitchen improvement might just save your back.
