Thermometer out; Wall-mounted “Weather Station” in

3 March 2008

If you have a weather-following fanatic in the house, who’s always got to flip on the TV or get on the Internet to find out what the forecast is, then the “Weather Channel Wall Hanging Wireless Weather Station” may be a good gadget to install.

This thing does a lot more than your old-school thermometer. Here’s a few bullets from the product description:

  • Measures indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity
  • Weather tendency indicator forecasts weather 12 to 20 hours in advance
  • Displays precise time and date via atomic clock and current moon phase
  • Records minimum/maximum temperature and humidity readings for 24-hour period

The gadget runs on 4 x AA batteries and comes with everything you need to install it.

At $140, it’s slightly more expensive (okay, a lot) than your average wall-mounted thermometer, but, hey, maybe it’ll save you money on your TV bills… no need to tune into the weather channel so often (and actually it was on special for $85 as I wrote this post).

Shiny red barbecue for $250 - amazing. My husband has been searching for a new barbecue since last summer. The red one is fabulous and the price is just amazing. Here in Scotland we have to pay 3 times that amount for a boring grey and black one. Visiting the USA this summer may think about shipping one!
