Invite Insect-Munching Toads to Your New Toad House

21 March 2008

If insects such as beetles, ants, June bugs, grasshoppers, slugs, moths, sowbugs, and armyworms are a problem in your yard, perhaps you need to invite a toad over for dinner. Before you scoff and go back to shopping for a bug zapper, realize toads can eat more than 100 insects a day!

Yup, these little guys are the natural predators of many types of insects. But they do their eating at night and need a cool, dark place to recoup during the day. Hence the toad house.

Just stick this stained toad house in a moist, shady spot in your garden, and with luck a bug-eating neighbor will move in to help with your pest control problems.
