Design Your Own Range or Cooktop
If you’re having trouble finding the oven or cooktop of your dreams from the local home improvement store, maybe it’s time to have something custom built. No, this doesn’t need to be as expensive as it sounds. Some companies will build a range to your specifications using their regular factory components. This can be great if you’re looking for something irregular (side-by-side double ovens? a small range for an apartment perhaps?).
FiveStar actually has a “Build Your Own Range/Cooktop” wizard on their website that you can run through. The nice thing is it gives you the price up front and lets you know the base vs. what is added on for your accessories. When it comes to width, you can choose anything from 24″ to 60″. Other choices include fuel type, open vs. sealed burners, color, and trim kits.
Yay, for custom appliances (and web site wizards that let you tinker away without being pressured by sales people).
