A Designer Scratching Post You Won’t Mind Displaying
Lindsay ~ 11 January 2008
We pet owners love our pets, but it can be a bit embarrassing to explain why guests are sitting on half-eaten chew bones or tripping over cat trees that look like they’ve been through the garbage disposal a few times. Here’s one pet toy you won’t be embarrassed about at least:
The Leo Scratching Post is made from an exotic African wood called Zebrawood (we’ve talked about zebrawood countertops and floors before, but it’s not something one usually sees as a material for pet toys), which is handsome enough to be displayed in its own right, and the sleek shape is sure to have guests assuming it’s a piece of sculpture and not just a scratching post for Mr. Wiggles. The weeble wobble design should be fun for your cat too.

in my opinion cats would be terrified to use this post…it would topple over and make them feel insecure resulting in scratching other things they can get their claws into such as your couch! i wouls further suggest a tall sisal post or carpet with a sturdt base and at least 3 feet high. If you choose to make your own you can choose your design and colour. these can be as expensive to make as $150 or as cheap as $10, but will be a better investment than a post that topples.

I two am not fond of cat products and have found very little on the net that would look good in a modern home. Although you may not mind displaying this at home, it is very unlikely to serve it function.Cats will want a soft wood which they can dig there claws into or a hard wood with a plethora of notches for there claws to hook firmly into, the hole exercise helps to keep there claws in cheek if the object moves they cannot tug or pull with vigour which is the hole point behind the exercise. If the object has the potential to move or fall they will opt not to use it for scratching.
