I’ve heard it said that decks are out and patios are back in, but if you’ve got a door on the second story, especially if you’ve got a view outside that door, you’re probably going to want a deck. When it comes to deck railings, you can play it safe with wood, go a little higher scale with glass balusters, or even get custom-built panels such as the ones shown here.
