Wine Rack Under Stairs Makes Use of Dead Space
If you enjoy wine but you can’t quite convince your family members that turning the basement into a huge wine cellar is a great idea, then perhaps you can find some unused space in the house to build in a wine rack.
Under a set of stairs can be a nice place to install a rack, especially if the bottom floor is kept cool. Wine storage beneath the stairs takes advantage of what is otherwise usually dead space in most houses.
This provides a little more room for your favorite vintages than just using a mini rack purchased from the store, and it doesn’t require devoting valuable kitchen cabinet space to a wine refrigerator.
You will probably have to have an under-stair rack custom done, however, unless someone in the house has some carpentry skills. You can have simple slide-in racks made or install permanent built-ins. If you choose to do a built in, make sure the wine rack is well constructed, so it will add value to the home, rather than detracting from it.
