Handmade Leaf & Tile Fireplace Surround Mosaic

If you’re looking for a way to spice up a drab fireplace, a handmade mural or mosaic applied to the surround can really add a lot of personality. Depending on what your existing surround is made from, you might be able to lay tiles right on top of it without pulling out a chisel (or worse sledgehammer). That way, redesigning your fireplace doesn’t have to be a disruptive home improvement.

You can even lay the tiles yourself to save money, but you may prefer to have an artist create a custom design for you.
