Flap Doors on Kitchen Cabinets Save Space
You’ve been in as many kitchens as I have, maybe more, so you probably have noticed the trend in cabinets is hinges on the side with doors swinging out. That set-up works pretty well, so there’s not much need to mess with it unless you a) have a small kitchen and every bit of space counts or b) just like to be different.
One way to be different with your kitchen cabinets (and save space) is to try flap doors.
These open upward and out of the way instead of out into valuable workspace. The hinges on flap doors work a little differently than regular ones, since the door needs to stay up and not clunk you on the head while you’re looking for your favorite mug, but generally speaking these cabinets are just as easy to use as traditional ones.
