I hate those countertop paper towel holders, since they just take up valuable workspace, so I always go for the wall-mounted ones or the holders that hang from the bottom of a cupboard. The Grundtal holder from Ikea takes the wall-hung one to an even more storage-efficient level.

This paper towel holder has slots for aluminum foil and plastic wrap or wax paper too. You can get rid of the clunky boxes in your drawers, and just stick those rolls on the wall.

This kitchen roll holder can be mounted directly on the wall or hung from a strip that you can buy separately (it lets you mount other utensils and kitchen gadgets on the wall too).
