It’s hard to beat the look of wood fences, but they sure do require a lot of maintenance. That’s especially true in damp climates. To keep a wooden fence looking good you’ll need to paint it every couple years, and you still have to worry about rot and/or fading from the sun.

A vinyl fence can be a smart alternative, since it will never need to be painted, and it won’t rot or fade. You can get vinyl fences that look just like wooden ones too. They’re virtually maintenance free, and they rarely need to be replaced. They also tend to be cheaper to buy and install too.
