Hardwood Floors from Recycled Australian Jarrah

24 August 2007

Hardwood floors made from recycled or reclaimed woods are quite popular these days, both because they make use of timber that was cut decades (or even centuries) ago (so new trees don’t need to be cut down) and because the weathered character of the wood can be gorgeous.

If you are a fan of hardwood floors (and who isn’t?) then you’re sure to appreciate this recycled Australian Jarrah. The varied colors certainly do make it stand out.

The flooring was installed by Pioneer Millworks, a company that specializes in floors made from reclaimed woods: “Our products are made from timbers reclaimed from old barns and industrial buildings; wood that would otherwise be thrown away is recycled into worthwhile green products with stories to tell. Because our sources and processes are environmentally responsible, our customers join us in helping to prevent the destruction of fragile eco-systems while saving jobs and money.”

There you have it. Recycled hardwood floors look good in the home, and they’re a product you can feel good about too.
