Concrete Countertops, Smart Choice for Outdoor Kitchens
Lindsay ~ 12 August 2007
Outdoor kitchens are a fun backyard upgrade if you’re doing some remodeling, but make sure you pick durable materials for the countertops, appliances, cabinets, etc., stuff that can stand up to the elements year after year.
Concrete is a good choice for countertops in an outdoor kitchen. It’s a snap to keep clean (just hose that sucker off at the end of a picnic), and it’s easy to mold into any shape and thickness you want. You can also get it stained different colors, or have interesting textures added. As far as durability, in an outdoor environment, concrete can last up to 40 years. That’s a lot of backyard dinner parties!
