Gaggenau BL 253 Lift Oven–Where’s the Door?
Oven doors are so last century. I’m sure that’s why the Gaggenau BL 253 Lift Oven has a base that slides down (the “LiftMatic”), so you can easily pluck your entrĂ©e out. No more reaching into a hot oven to get your meal. And since heat rises, the temperature in the oven remains nice and toasty for round two of baking. No more having to preheat again before putting in a second sheet of cookies.
This oven obviously needs to be mounted above the counter to work, but it’s a neat idea. It features 12 heating methods, including convection. It even has automatic temperature recommendations to help along your culinary skills. When you’re done cooking, the “pyrolytic” self-cleaning program (sounds high tech, doesn’t it?) burns off splashes and residues left behind by cooked food.
You can get the BL 253 for a mere $3,300. (Hey, you didn’t think pryolytics came cheap, did you?)
