Wooden Walkways Make Backyard Strolls Pleasant
Lindsay ~ 11 June 2007
Lots of people add concrete or stepping-stone walkways to their yards and gardens, but these wooden walkways from Walpole Woodworkers are a nice idea too. Though I’m not sure how the wood would hold up to the elements year in and year out (obviously you’d have to apply a good marine-grade finish), they’d offer a little more flexibility than poured concrete. The pieces can come apart and be moved around the yard.
The company suggests using the wooden walkways to protect much traveled areas of your yard, or to make walking across stony or sandy areas more pleasant. You can buy the walkways in sections, so you can add on down the line or change them up when you’re bored with the current layout.

That’s beautiful. I love the look of hardwood flooring inlay, and getting it made to suit your own tastes really provides a feeling of uniqueness.

I’m wanting to build a wooden walkway like this one. It’s going to go from my house to a lake below my house. It’s a steep hill part of the way and it’s in the woods. When it rains it becomes muddy but if I built something like this how would i keep it on the ground so that it dosen’t slide or anything? How would I build this?

Great picture. And the product itself – a nice solution for often-used paths. Personally I’d add a roof to that and cover the whole thing all together – but that’s just me
