Hand-carved Decorative Wooden Fireplace Surround
Lindsay ~ 12 June 2007
Whether you use your fireplace all the time or just once in a while, it’s designed to be a focal point in your living room, a spot that draws the eye and impresses. A classy mantel or surround can add a feeling of luxury to an entire room.
This wooden fireplace surround has been enhanced by a reproduction carving of an Art Nouveau design originally done in 1895. It was actually carved into the wood and not applied on top. Then the work was colored and slightly distressed to add toning.
You don’t have to have a historic home to consider getting a decorative carving such as this one to add gravitas to your fireplace.
