Circular Stairs Add Interest to Yard
8 June 2007
Most of us take it for granted that individual stair treads are supposed to be rectangular. A spiral staircase might be an exception, since those are usually wider on the outside and narrower in the middle, but all in all, you just don’t see many circular stair steps (at least, I don’t in my neighborhood).
The picture here shows that it can be done, and it adds an interesting element to what would otherwise be a plain staircase leading into the house from the yard. The stairs are made from cast concrete and steel using circles three feet in diameter for the steps. It’s a neat idea and probably not all that expensive.
